Crosstab - can't use page numbers or current date

I create my reports in iReport. When using a crosstab I cannot get a page footer to work. My aim is to get a page number and the current date on each page of the report. This does not work when using a crosstab. I have spoken to Guilio about this who confirms that this is a problem.

On which page does the crosstab lie? If it\'s the summary band, please read this

Otherwise, attach a sample to replicate the issue or post all the relevant information.
