Desperate: need step-by-step or walkthrough on how to create a pie chart in jasperserver

Hi.

I'm currently tasked to evaluate jasper report server. We have the trial v6.2 and it's getting nearer to expiring and it's obvious we don't know what we're doing.

We have a Cassandra data source and here's what I've managed to accomplish so far:

1. Create a Datasource

2. Create a Virtual Datasource so it shows up in Domain creation

3. Create a Domain based on the virtual datasource

Now the fields show up fine when creating an Adhoc View but I don't know how to use the Adhoc View Creator.

There's only one table with one column that contains:

Letters
a
b
a
a
c
b

I need to create pie chart that would show that there are 3 A's, 2 B's and 1 C.

How is this accomplished within JasperServer? Are there other steps needed to prepare the data in some way?

I need to create 2 more graphs like above so I can create a dashboard but I can't get to that step yet.

It's irritating that this seems too simplistic and yet I can't get it done so I'm desperate; Sorry.

Thanks so much for your time.
