populate fields in dataset and query dialog box

for my report i have to use query and when i go to dataset and query dialog box, i can't populate the fields. i get message asking me to double click, but double clicking populates nothing.
then page that you have on your community kind of useless because I dont use test data, I use data that we have in our database. If you provide more information on how to populate fields using real data, that would be helpful

In the query executor make sure you have given the right data source to fetch the records fo your sequel

It is the right data source. I made copy of older report and just wanted to change query and update the fields with the new query, but it won't let me.
