How to have multiple column headers and footers?

0

I've been reading a lot about this stuff but I have not solved it by myself. All I want is just to have multiple column headers and footers like this:

Student Name (English):
-------------------------
Michelle
John
-------------------------
Total: 2

Student Name (Math):
-------------------------
Dianne
May
-------------------------
Total: 2

As you can see my desired output would be like to have two column headers which is the Student Name (English) and Student Name (Math), and two column footers for total. The bands would be like:

Column Header 1
   Detail 1
Column Footer 1

Column Header 2
   Detail 2
Column Footer 2

How would I do this? I have been reading a lot of subreport here but it seems that it doesn't work for me. It does not display the data. And also I'm using PHP. Can anyone please help me.

Just create a group for your header in both your sql statement and in your report layout.

No need to use subreports and nothing that's dependent of programming language.
