How to show the input control in the left pane.

Hi Team,

   I would like to show my input control to a report inside a left pane of the report.How can  i do this.

  I saw in the example report "Cascading Multi select example report" is using a "Two colum template" 's seconday pain(left pain) for displaying input controls.But in my report first a pop up will raise with input controls and on submitting that report will show up, when I deployed to Jasper Server.

Plese let me know how can i do this.
