Changing table orientation in detail section?

Greetings,

I would like to know if it's possible to change the orientation of tabular data presented in the detail band of a report.  So basically, the first column in my report are the headers, and each successive column is the data related to row header.   I guess you could say it's analogous to freezing the first row and column in a spreadsheet.  And whereas in a horizontally aligned table the number of rows is indeterminate and may spread several pages, the number of columns is indeterminate and may also cause mutliple pages.

Any help is appreciated.
