404 - Not Found Error

I'm trying to attach the iOS version 1.7 JasperMobile app to my 5.0.1 server. I believe I have all the server information entered, though I haven't found any documentation describing any constraints. Error I get is 404-Not Found. The URI requested is invalid or the resource requested does not exists. I saw a note on this error on the Android list recommeding update to 1.7, but I'm already on that version.

Hi

Can you please try to connect to server via iOS Safari browser and check if the server is available?

Also can you please provide next information:
  • entered server URL
  • is server CE or PRO version
  • entered organization

I've tried in via Safari and Chrome and get the same result - the logjn screen to the Jaspersoft server flashes on the screen for about a 1/4 second and then disappears. The rest of the screen appears to be the expected Jasper screen - home button, log out spot, but I can't interact with the login fields to get logged in.

Server URL is https://192.168.0.18:8443/jasperserver-pro/login.html (local server in my home lab)

Version is PRO, this is the Novell ZENworks Reporting product; I'm the training subject matter expert.

Organization I see in the Repository is "organization" and that's what I've set.

i did succeed today in getting the CA from the jasper server converted to PEN format and imported into the iPad. I still get the same symptoms from JasperMobile. Interestingly, however, once getting the CA installed the commercial iJasperMobile HD now works, so I believe I've made some useful progress. But I do want to get your JasperMobile working so have a viable lower-cost recommendation.

Please, try to remove the "/login.html" part from the server URL - https://192.168.0.18:8443/jasperserver-pro

The repository REST request should be https://192.168.0.18:8443/jasperserver-pro/rest/resources and "/login.html" in this case breaks it.

When I attempt that way I get a different error -

No connection. Please check your mobile network settings and try again.

Not aware of any issues with connection to the wireless network. Sampling of other apps - including iJasperMobile with same URL - all work correctly with the network. Signal strength should be good - I can see the WAP from my desk. ;-)

I should perhaps note that the "Jasper Mobile Demo" server connects perfectly and quite quickly.

Ok, so the server URL is valid but most likely credentails are wrong.

Please, can you try different credentials for the server (with / without organization field).
The default credentials for PRO server version are:
  • organization: organization_1
  • username: jasperadmin
  • password: jasperadmin

But they may vary depending on the customizations done

Nope. No luck. Is there any way to ask the server what the configured organization is? The login credentials are good - I'm logged into Jasper on the server where it's installed. So the only part of the server profile that I can't verify by other means is the Organization field. If there's a way to get that from a configuration file or something else, I'll look. Otherwise I'll send a note to the engineering team in Bangalore.

Thanks!

I've found that mobile application has a connection issue if the server is using self-signed certificate (https protocol).
This issue will be fixed in coming 1.8 release (end of January - beginning of February).
Another solution could be to disable https protocol, and connect via http protocol

You are welcome!

I'm having a similar issue, but our certificate is from a CA and not self signed. Running 5.5 CE.

I'm able to get logged on, but when I try to run a report, the "No Connection" message appears.

Ah - a potential solution on the horizon. Pass my name along if you have someone interested in a beta tester. I'm delivering the training for Novell for the first time January 24th and would love to talk about the mobile app.

In the mean time, I'll seek some assistance with turning off https - that's outside of what I've learned about those protocols.

Thanks much for the continuign assistance - Merry Christmas!
