Chinese Character not visible in XLS

Hi,

I want to export some data from Database into an excel file. My database field can contain any character (chinese, japanese, English). I developed JRXML using iReport and was successfull in exporting .PDF using http://mdahlman.wordpress.com/2010/05/28/jaspersoft-v3-7-font-extensions/ tutp tutorial. I was getting chinese and japanese character after saving it as pdf also.

BUT When i save the output .japser file to xls file my chinese/japanese characters are replaced by blank. I am not able to fine any solution on web. Kindly help.
