Reference REPORT_COUNT in viewReport.jsp

Hello,

Excuse my ignorance I'm new to jasperreports. I was wondering if there is a way to reference the $V{REPORT_COUNT} variable inside of a jstl expression on an overridden version of the viewReport.jsp. I'm surprised this can't be accessed in a nice way, maybe through the Report javascript object but I have not been able to find anything. The reason I'm doing this is we added a global limit to all reports and we want to provide a message to the user if the report_count reaches this threshold. We were hoping to do this in the viewReport.jsp as it wraps all reports so we can display once rather than updating 100+reports with the same logic. Any recommendations or best practices would be appreciated as I said I am new to this.
