I am using jaspersoft studio to create my jrxml. I have a problem with letters with accent. When I save they are replaced by squares and if you save a second time scares are replaced by question marks and so that is in .jasper
What can I do? I am new to JasperReport (I tried to change the encoding to ISO-8859 but it comes back to UTF-8 everytime)
So my point is to accented letters in the jasper file at the end

Can you post a sample report with the problem? In general UTF-8 should be great for working with accented characters. And in practice it's working well for me (and others) with accents, Japanese, etc. So there must be something unusual going on.
