Romanian characters issue for iReport 4.5.0

 Hello,

I'm having some problems using romanian characters in static text.

For example when using this words:  'Mihai Răzvan Ungureanu' in a static text I end up with  'Mihai Rzvan Ungureanu'

if the pdfEncoding property is set to cp1250 or 1252

If I use cyrillic or balcanic or even turkish encoding I end up with  Mihai R?zvan Ungureanu.

The problem appears when exporting to pdf. When using JReportsViewer to preview everything looks good.

Do I need to install some auxiliary fonts for the template ?

Thanks for your patience

I managed to fix that problem. You just need to save the iReport as a .rtf file while using the Central European encoding (CP 1250), then open it with Microsoft Word 2007 and then use the Save As option to save the file as .pdf. To do that you need to install a small add-in for Word 2007 from Microsoft website: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=7

Hello,

I have the same problem, except that when using CP1250 sometimes the characters are well encoded and some times they are not.

While using jasper, exporting to excel works fine. I only have this issue with pdf, and I need to fix it while generating a pdf.

Do you have any other sollutions?
