Float position to have subreports on same line doesn"t work

I have  a subreport which can return 1 to 7 columns horizontally :

AAAAAA BBBBBB CCCCCC DDDDDD

first subreport has a size of 2800 = 400*7 columns

I have another subreport which can return 1 to 2 colums horizontally

ZZZZZ QQQQQ

second subreport has a size of 740 = 320*2 colums  but first colum is printed with a gap of 400

In the main report, I would like to have both subreports  on a same line like

AAAAAA BBBBBB CCCCCC ZZZZZ QQQQQ

I put SUBREPORT2 with floating position but it doesn't work. I've got

AAAAAA BBBBBB ZZZZZ CC DDDDDD

Is it possible to have both subreports on a same line ? Does the floating position is really available ?
