Unsuccessful iReport for NetBeans install

I have downloaded two plugins, tor install in NetBeans6.5:
* ireport-designer: Version: 1.0 Author: Jaspersoft Corp. Date: 1/13/09 Source: iReport-nb-3.1.3.nbm
* jasperserver-plugin: Version: 1.0 Author: Jaspersoft Corp. Date: 1/13/09 Source: jasperserver-plugin-nb-3.1.3.nbm

The loader wizard gives the following message:

Installation completed unsuccessfully.
Click Finish to quit the NetBeans IDE installer and try to restart IDE.
The Plugin Installer found problem timeout of loading ireport-designer[com.jaspersoft.ireport/1.0] while install the following plugins:
ireport-designer
jasperserver-plugin

NetBeans forces app shutdown, and upon restart my Swing app in design view fails to respond, and a perpetual Windows spinning hourglass.  Despite the hourglass, I can access tools to remove the plugins, upon another app restart - minus iReport plugins NetBeans runs fine.  Please help.
