Is there any documentation or example to create a working OLAP environment like those in the example?

See http://mondrian.sourceforge.net to learn how to write an OLAP cube. After that you need to create the OLAP resources in JasperIntelligence. Also at the Mondrian site is information on how to query the cube.

I'm dying to put my hands in the OLAP department but haven't found where to start from.

 

I went thru the mondrian page you suggested but is not enough. I did understand how to write the schecma and stuff, what I do need is learning how to create it, the design part. I've already googled for information but nothing yet. If anyone has some good information source please let me know.

The Kimball books are great.

 

 

There is also William Pearson's “Introduction to SQL Server MDX Essentialsâ€

                 Presently i am working on a project.In this project we have to create  some sql queries on mssql server 2005 and then we have to reflect those queries on a dashboard made in xcelsius 2008.
Sir I have completed all the queries given to me.We have to use olap cube on those queries.I have created olap cube using msexcel 2003.Now I am facing problem in making xml file over that olap cube.
Please guide me how to make xcelsius dashboard which has a dynamic refresh property.Is making xml file necessary for this?
