Cannot use JasperReports 1.0.0 on iReport 0.5

2005-07-26 00:06

I've downloaded and installed JR 1.0.0 and tried to compile some reports, the massive compiler worked fine but when i tried to run some reports from iReport 0.5.1 I got this error:

Error filling print... java.io.InvalidClassException: net.sf.jasperreports.engine.base.JRBaseReport; local class incompatible: stream classdesc serialVersionUID = 604, local class serialVersionUID = 608 at java.io.ObjectStreamClass.initNonProxy(Unknown Source)

It's about a wrong version of a class...why can't i use a newer version of JasperReports? I could understand that I cannot use a older version but a newer.....

Recompile the report.

Furthermore I copied all jar files from Jasper Reports to the lib folder of iReport.

Remove duplicates.

Doesn't work...

The report has a UID of 604 in it and it want's 10000 now...how do i change the UID?

Or is it iReport with this UID?

I executed ireport but with some replacement of jars (with JR 1.0.0 will be shipped some new libs) I used jdk 1.4.2 because there is a problem with jdk 1.5.

remember erase the old libs from you ireport 0.5.

This is exactly my lib:

another thinks its the exception (UID of 604 in it and it want's 10000) its because you compiling the file *.jasper whit jasper 1.0.0 and try to fill with old jasper 0.6.4, so try to see where its the jar jasper 0.6.4 and replace for the new jasper 1.0.0. Remember that jasper 1.0.0 shiped another librarys (upgrade)not just the file jasperreports-1.0.0.jar.

good luck.
