Cannot open QueryReport.jrxml in iReport

Somehow iReport does not open QueryReport.jrxml

This file can be found in the demo/samples/query folder of Jasper Reports.

My platform is:

Mandriva LE 2005

Jasper Reports 0.6.8

iReport 0.5.0

 

Any ideas ?

It's because this report use ReportFonts.ent file for setting parameters of the fonts it's using.

Just copy ReportFonts.ent from demo/samples/query folder to the root folder of your IReport (for example, D:javaiReport-0.5.0-src).

After that everything works.

Putting ReportFonts.ent file in bin folder works (I do not have the sources).

However this looks like a workaround to me, not a structural solution.

It looks to me that iReport should take the position of file ReportFonts.ent relative to the position of the jrxml file, not relative to the system path.

Well, if you add information from ReportFonts.ent file to QueryReport.jrxml you are able to forget about ReportFonts.ent at all (don't forget to remove <!ENTITY reportFonts SYSTEM "./ReportFonts.ent"> from the resulting .jrxml file).
