IReport0.0.9 doesnt start due to JVM issue

2004-03-26 13:46

When I run IReport0.0.9 from command line,it prompts an error dialog box "Class not Registered" and an error message " Unable to start the application-The Java Virtual machine cannot be loaded".

I installed JDK and JRE during the installation of j2sdk1.4.2_04.

When i read the documentation IReport,it's one of the requriement is Microsoft JVM which is not currently available in the web or supported by microsoft.

So I do not know how to go about this problem. If anyone knows a solution, thanks in advance for letting me know

Uma,

This url tests if JVM is properly installed.

http://java.com/en/download/help/testvm.jsp

if not get the JRE with the JVM and reinstall java.

http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

Flux, thanks

I tested using the url and it seems that JVM is properly functioning in my computer.

So it didnt solve the problem

My hunch cud it be some classpath related issue?

Uma,

I'm currently working with the 0.2.3 version of iReport and use the "no ant" startup file on my win xp (win 2000) configuration. I don't know how to specify classpath in this version of iReport.

I suggest you download the latest version.

If you haven't set your JAVA_HOME in your surrounding variables yet, i suggest you do.

Don't know if it would help but you can try.

Right click on my computer - properties - advanced - variables (if you'r using win xp or 2k )

Best of luck, hope i could help.
