Error - Action aborted by user.

I have followed 2.1 to 2.3 (of 2 Installing iReport) extremely carefully. I am using noantstartup.bat in win2k.

 

But in 2.3 (or anything else) I keep getting

 

"Action aborted by user."

 

What am I missing?

 

I could send you more details if you need them but I thought simple hint may be enough for great programmers like you.

 

(It is unfortunate I could not copy/paste directly from Output window!!)

provide more info about the error that you are getting (e.g. copy/paste the output).

Alex, Thanks for your quick response. I have moved beyond that point now.

 

Now I am struggling to show data SQL query.

 

I am using the Report Wizard for an extremely simple report.

 

What is the key step? Think like a first timer with no documentation whatsoever !!

My first time with the wizard was a success and everything worked. However, before anything works, you have to successfully set up a jdbc datasource.

 

I don't have iReport in front of me, but you want to go to the datasources menu, create a new datasource and use the wizard to create the jdbc connection string. Also, before you can successfully connect to the database, you have to make sure that the jdbc driver for the database that you are connecting is in the classpath (the easiest way to do that is to drop the driver jar file in the $IREPORT_HOME/lib directory.

 

Well, maybe you are past that step as well... But anyway, I hope this was helpful...
