2006 IR Open Dicussion
By: Rabia Mahek - rabiamahek PDF size too lrage because of images 2006-07-14 08:00The default resolution for images created by Jasper is 600dpi.If there are many images in the report, the PDF size is becoming too large.I want to set the image resolution to 300dpi but there is no such option. There was a solution pasted on this group but that was for Jasper 1.2 (I am usig 1.1) and it is not solving my problem. I cannot migrate to Jasper 1.2 because of some constraints. Did anyone face a similar problem ?

teodord
Hi, What type of image is it? GIF? Is it displaying multi-times in the report? Thank you,Teodor
christiaan_se
Hi, I think you need to use JRDesignImage.setUsingCache(true); otherwise the image will be copied everytime it is used. kind regards,Christiaan
danielgois
Hi,I'm facing the same problem and think that would be great if we could adjust the PDF image resolution.I’m using version 3.7.3 to export a museum catalog with more then 1k pages and, almost, 5k images. The produced PDF has more then 500GB and the reason of it is the heterogeneity of the images. Some other alternative!? Thanks,Daniel Góis de Oliveira
