Compare Oracle reports 6i and Jasper 0.6.1

Is there anyone who can tell me more about

diferents between Oracle Reports 6i and Jasper reports.

Japser is an open source Java Class library. There are some GUI tools like ireport to help you build XML that gets fills in when you use this library to finish report development. Oracle report is a full blown Report tool. Its is GUI and needs an Oracle report server on OAS to run(may be you can install it w/o OAS - not sure). I will expect Oracle report to be easy to use and allow more sposticated report. But Jasper is a freeware tool so sky is the limit. What you pay is what you get!

 

This is what I understood using Jasper for last three months.

Regarding "what you pay is what you get".

 

That's true. But choose wisely, if there's a better option, whithin your budget.
