2005 IR Help
By: pennypacker - pennypacker XLS overflowing data 2004-12-01 18:07 the data inserted into my excel cell is much larger than the allocated cell width. I am using the stretch if overflow option. However, it inserts extra rows and messes with the layout. Whats the best way to deal with overflowing data in XLS cell? thanks By: RMorrisey - rmorrisey RE: XLS overflowing data 2005-09-20 07:42 Related issue - when I set isStretchWithOverflow="true" on my report fields for an XLS report (application/x-excel), the report generates extra rows to give the stretching cell space. This is OK, but the stretch isn't sufficient to show the whole contents of the field, it's still cut off at the bottom of the cell (the data is not truncated, but it's too long to display). Is there a parameter or anything I can set to increase the height of the added stretch rows? I am using an older version of JasperReports, v0.6.6, with JasperAssistant v1.5.3 By: janek - janekda my solution 2006-04-27 03:59 I had troubles with it, too. I set field with long data with "stretch if overflow" and for the other fields in report I set reportElement to stretchType="RelativeToTallestObject". mcoddington
FYI - I had the same issue as RMorrisey. I tried setting the positionType and stretchType to all of their various options but then eventually figured out to set verticalAlignment="Middle". Hope that helps if anyone else gets stuck. Thanks,Mike
