Dynamic Column Widths?

2004-05-13 11:23

Is there any way to make the width dynamic based on the size of the text in a column? What I have is times where my text is longer than the width I have defined for the column. I would like for the column to stretch HORIZONTALLY to fit the text. There are two places I need this.

1) Column Headers

2) Column detail

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,!

Hi,

I have had a similar issue and needed to use API calls, after loading a basic report design. Will send some example code I used to help with the issues I have to your sourceforge email address.

Thanks

Mark

Hi, I just started using JasperReports a couple of weeks ago. I realize JasperReport doesn't support textfields stretching horizontally. so if there is a way to change the column width of a table dynamically, that could work for me. will you send me your sample codes or post it here?

Thanks so much.
