Hello,

 

I'm testing out the viability of using Jasper with a project at work. The test report that I'm creating is the biggest one from our existing legacy system. On that system, it creates a 28mb text file as the output. The data source that I'm testing Jasper with is around 180,000 records, with 13 fields. Right now, running this report, Jasper gives an OutOfMemoryError about 10 minutes into the filling.

 

From what I've read, Jasper keeps all the pages in memory as its creating the report. Is there any way to turn off this behavior. I can post my report if someone thinks it's relavent.

 

This may be an extreme example. but it's what the boss wants. If we can't get this working, we'll definitely be going with another product. Any suggestions that such a large report is useless aren't going to help... the boss wants this.
