How to have multiple - details ?

2004-05-03 05:34

Hi all there!

This is my probz:

I wanna create a Report wherein i want to have two detail section. I mean I have two sets of records A and B and both A and B can have dynamic number of records in it. Now in the in the Report it is obvious i need to have two detail sections because of my print layout. Have a look at the skeleton of the layout that i want :

-----------Start Report-------------

Some Static Text

N number of Records from record set (A)

Some static Text

N number of Records from record set (B)

Static text again

-----------End Report-----------------

I belive we can resolve this issue using Sub-Reports with the first static text and N number of records for Set(A) in first sub-report

and

the second static text and N number of records for Set(B) in second sub-report .

and then including both of them in the Master report.

Please correct me on my understanding about sub-reports

Can any one tell me the right way to achieve this requirement.

Thank a zillion b'forehand

Your assumption is correct. You have to assign different datasources to the subreports and off you go.
