I'm trying to display textFields that contains values calculated during a subreport. I tried using the method from the tips and tricks where a group is used, and evaluation time is set to the group. For some reason it isn't working. No matter what I've tried, the text in the main report is generated before the subreport is run. The text and the subreport are both within the detail section.

 

Has anyone sucessfully used this method with the most recent version of JasperReports?

If you're interested in the latest version, check 1.0.0.

 

It has support for returning values from a subreport (using the returnValue element) and "Band" evaluation time. Take a look at the Subreport sample for an usage example.

Thanks. I'll try that. I've since realized that I had jars for two versions of jasper in my jar directory. That might have been my problem.
