2005-05-10 02:05

Hi ,

I have a little problem with viewing arabic characters in pdf report.some arabic charcters that must be joined ,they aren't.

Example:

the problem is there is a space between "س" and "ي

" that must not be .

Any solutions?

The seen and yeh (even the farsi yeh) connect correctly in iText. What do you get with static text?

Hi,

the problem appears only with Diactrics

example if seen is written with SHADDA (" سّ ") or with diactrics then the seen and yeh are not joined.

but without Diatrics all work fine

Thanks

I know what the problem is. You have an inital and final form but they are not connected and the diactrical is in the middle standing in the air. This is a bug with the standard windows fonts (arial, etc.) in that the Unicode standard states that the diactrical should have zero length but that's not the case with those fonts. See http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.java.lib.itext.general/8127 for a solution.
