Styled Text + isStrikeThrough + PDF

In trying to get strike through text, I tried many things. This is the closest I have gotten. However the strike through seems to be behind the text. If you look at the pdf in demo for styled text, you will see what I'm saying.

 

Is this the only way to get text with the strike through attribute in a pdf?

I'm aware of this problem.

Last time when I rechecked that I found nothing wrong in JR.

It seems an iText problem to me.

 

Are you sure you need styled text?

A text element with the strikethrough property ON does not suffice?

I don't need styled text, I tried what you are saying first, with no luck. Styled text was just my last attempt.

 

I tried the strikethrough property on the font element within the textElement node and it seems that a Static Text control will show the strikethrough on top of the text, but if I use a Text Field, the strikethrough is behind the text.

Have you checked the provided "fonts" sample?

Strikethrough text seems to work there very well.

Yes it does work in the sample. Like I said in my last post it works if the type of element you are using is StaticText. However, if I use a textElement, the strike through is behind the text.

 

I have created a sample where I have a static text element and a textElement on the same report. Both with the strike through set to true. The static text works while the text element does not.

This is a bug in iText. iText places the strikethrough and then the background. If you don't have a background all is well otherwise it will be over the strikethrough.

I assume by background you mean the text?

 

I have solved my problem. There is a mode setting that was set to Opaque by default by the tool we are using. If I set that to transparent, everything works fine. Even the strikethrought of the styled text works.
