2004 IR Help
By: Marianne - marianne_lund Performance issue on a short report? Urgent! 2005-03-21 05:06 Hi, I've designed a report using iReport. The report is not very long, but it has many sub selects which makes it run for a while. The difference between running the SQL through sqlplus and through my J2EE application is not significant for us (only a few secs). But - what is significant is that, after I added a few rows in the design, it seems that I've reached an unvisible limit in the iReport design, and whenever running the iReport program or trying to make a report in my application using this "maximized" report, it takes forever (not enough memory - even though I set the server to use 512). Is there a limit on how many graphical elements a single report file (jrxml) can have? I've tried to stretch the single header I'm drawing my elements in but is stopped after a short while. I have heard that there are performance issues regarding long resultsets which produces many pages, but I can't recall to have read about performance issues regarding many graphical elements on one page... Thank you for answering shortly! Marianne By: Marianne - marianne_lund RE: Performance issue on a short report? Urgent! 2005-03-22 00:38 I think I found a previous post on this issue - the one with the subject "CPU 100% - but no errors". Still I'm not satisfied with an invisible band maximum creating such errors - is this something you can look into?
