Showing PDF documents

2003-12-04 14:08

Is there a way to show a pdf document on the fly without saving it to a <name>.pdf file?

Related to this: Is there a way to know where the Acrobat Reader application is so we execute it without hard-coding the assumed path?

You cannot show pdf files in java with jasperreports. What you can do is: show the preview of the report on the Screen with the dori.jasper.view.JasperViewer-Frame (or a similar solution).

To start Acrobat to show a pdf file should work on Windows with:

Runtime.getRuntime().exec("rundll32 url.dll,FileProtocolHandler C:pathname.pdf");
