how to draw lines for html reports?

2002-12-05 04:33

Hi

how to dram horizontal and vertical lines that can be visible in html reports?

i could draw the lines in the design view which are viewable in pdf format but not in html.

the lines are needed to get a tabular look with borders visible.

Thanks in advance

Harshada

I used static text item with empty text and black background. Make width/height 2px and u'll get line :)

Hi,

Lines and rectangles simply do not appear at all

in HTML, XLS or CSV format.

The built-in exporters do not support them.

Thank you,

Teodor

Understand but in the HTML world we are used to being able to put a surrounding box around chunks of text as a kind of "group box".

This is usually accomplished by putting an outer table with a border and an inner table with the text in it.

We just need to do something similar with Jasper.

Hi,

The problem is that JasperReports generates

HTML content as a supplement feature

and it is not quite part of the HTML world.

It is not a HTML oriented tool as it is also trying

to not become too PDF oriented or Swing oriented.

Trying to make compromises between various

export formats, this is what we get.

So, tables should be best simulated using lines,

knowing that with the next version these lines will

also appear in HTML format.

Thank you,

Teodor
