XLS format support

What I wanted to ask was whether JasperReports support
output of the excel (xls) format.

If not, any pointers (docos, instruction) on how to
extend Jasper Reports to output to xls format.

Hi,

There are some experimental implementations,
but I'm not sure they are up to date to support
the JRExporter interface.

However, for someone with some experience in using
the POI library should not be difficult to export to XLS format,
reusing maybe the algorithm found in the JRHtmlExporter,
which puts the elements on the page in some sort of a grid.
