Just wondering if it's possible to put details section inside a rectangle.

Hi,

You have to put a rectangle as big as your detail
band, as the first element of this detail band.

You that set to it:
isPrintWhenDetailOverflows= true 
stretchType=  RelativeToBandHeight 

That should be it.
