Embedding Swing Components in Jasper Reports
2002-12-13 13:55
Is it possible or are there plans to be able to embed a Swing component in a viewable report. For instance, it would be extremely useful to embed an actual JFreechart graph in the report instead of just an image of the report in order to take advantage of JFreechart's tooltips (which display the value of the plotted point when you mouse over a point on the graph).
Thanks,
Bill

Hi,
I'm not sure this is what a reporting tool should do.
JasperReports main purpose is to create
documents for printing.
Previewing these documents is an important feature,
but embedding visual components is just too much.
There are no tooltips on paper.
:)
Thank you,
Teodor
