Using a shared scriptlet

This may have already been answered some place in one of the forums but I'm not able to find it..so I'll try again in the new place.

 

I have a scriptlet that I want to use across multiple reports. I'm using iReports to do the design. What I am doing is to copy the base report to a different name, change the report name to match and then try to compile. What I get is that the "scriptletClass" attribute is changed (by iReports I assume) to match the report name with Scriptlet appended.

 

Is there some way to share a scriptlet or do I have to make n-identical copies just to change the report design for different uses?

 

I'm guessing that this has something to do with the "ireport.scripthandling" property but I have no idea what thta means.
