Problem with ireport

Hi,
can any body help me?I have below problems
1.how can i make a specific location to dispaly sub reports on my main report. Mean sub report must be displayed in that specified location and it cannot exceed from that space.My sub report containts line graph and bar graphs.
2.My report directly retriving data from DB but if that perticular field is null in DB then null text is displaying,I want to display it as a empty field.
Please give me some favour it's urgent.

2. select the checkbox "blank when null" which you can find in field properties, "Text field" tab.

If your subreport is big enought to contains all your elements, it will not grown.
Create a subreport of the same dimension you need to be in the master.
