In pattern expression its not accepting SQL queries. What sort of expression to continue with SQL operations. In oracle we will do field level validation by using SQL queries but in JASPER its not accepting SQL queries.

For column filtering where we have to apply SQL queries to proceed field level validation.

Could you provide an example?  I don't understand how SQL is involved in the expression.  Based on your screenshot you have your expression language set to Java.  In case you are not familiar expression in Jasper is the formula language.

I generated a report in jasper by using oracle database using sql query.

I have to filter a particular column to filter by using sql query. Is that possible to do that or what sort of expression i have to use to filter the particular column.
