Jaspersoft Studio Oracle JDBC Connection works only once

Trying to set up a Data Adapter to connect to an Oracle database. I am using the oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver and have the "Driver Classpath" set. When I do a "Test" of the connection is comes back right away with a Successful message. However, when I try to do another test of the same Data Adapter, the application just hangs. I need to use the Windows Task Manager to end this application. If I start the application again the "Test" will again only work the first time.

When I run a report using the previously save connection the report results come back fine. But when I try to run the report again I get the following Exception.  If I close the Jaspersoft Studio application and restart it then the report works fine the first time but again I get the following Exception. Does anyone know how to solve this?
