Restoring demo report

Hi,

I just got started working - evaluating Jasper Reports (8) by installing both the Report Server and Jaspersoft Studio on my Mac.

First of all anything did work as expected, and I was able to run the "Customers Report" provided by the installation.

I was able to connect the Studio application to the running server, and modified the "Customers Report" by adding somthing to the headline.

After saving my changes, the report was updated on the server, but I am not able to run it because of an error:

2022-03-08T10:44:29,066 ERROR SecureExceptionHandlerImpl,http-nio-8080-exec-4:125 - There was an error on the server. Try again or contact site administrators. (Error UID: 2791a415-e4b9-4b23-9181-dc77eb8898b4). org.exolab.castor.core.exceptions.CastorIllegalStateException net.sf.jasperreports.engine.JRRuntimeException: org.exolab.castor.xml.MarshalException: org.exolab.castor.core.exceptions.CastorIllegalStateException{File: [not available]; line: 8; column: 22}

I believe, the reason ism, the data source is not found anymore - this is possible, because trying to solve the issue I possibly made things worse by first traying to run the report in studio.

Can anybody provide some hints, on how to "restore" the Report on the server to end with a working version and possibly tell me what I did wrong first place when changing the headline by the Studio application?

Kind regards

Thorsten

If you can provide 'specifics of the changes you made' and 'specifics of how you uploaded to the server', we might notice something.
Then you can check 'jasperserver.log' and search for 'UID: 2791a415-e4b9-4b23-9181-dc77eb8898b4' to see if there are any hints in the log near here.
