We are upgrading from JRS 7.1 to JRS 8.0.0 Community. We added few customizations related to reports in JRS-CP-7.1.0. While upgrading customizations from JRS7.1.0 to JRS8.0.0, we are not able to see the js files. And the available js files are compiled with webpack . Could you please let us know where we we can get the all the js files to updrade customizations.(In previous versions optimized script files are available in optimized-scripts folder, unoptimized script files are in scripts folder but in JRS-CP-8.0.0 we have very few  js files in scripts folder and those are in optimized form)

It looks like the js files are now in the source code under the "jasperserver-ui" directory.

We are also used to being able to modify the javascript under scripts/ and scripts/runtime-dependencies, but that no longer works.

From the looks of it, we'll have to modify the source code and then run some build commands, then copy the resulting files over to the war deployment.

This Dr Jaspersoft webinar explains the new Webpack approach in 8.0:

Per slide 8 in the presentation:

  • Only the paths has been changed, JavaScript file names are still the same
  • Your JavaScript changes made in earlier versions needs to be added to your
    new jasperserver-ui project
  • Then all you have to do is build those changes as seen earlier to make them
    JasperReports Server 8 UI compatible
  • Exact same process for Visualize.js library customizations as well

Official documentation is at section 5.2.3 Customizing JavaScript Source Code of the JRS Ultimate Guide.

Please note, the Dr Jaspersoft page (and slides) is here in the new community: https://community.tibco.com/s/article/dr-jaspersoft-office-hours
