Excel export with multiple worksheets works in iReport but not JasperServer

I have a report that contains 2 tables and 4 crosstabs.  I can get the report to export to MS excel succesfully out of iReport with each element having its own worksheet and worksheet name.  However upon uploading it to JasperReport, the reports seems to time out and does not generate anything. Any help on figuring out what to test or look for would be appreciated.  I am using iReport 5.6.0
