Field json from mysql datasourse

I am a newcomer to jaspersoft and I am stuck on my first report.

I have a table in mysql that stores certain fields in json format

The report works fine for database fields such as id, date and total but the fields that I store as json show them as text.

is there any way to parser the string and get a value from the json object?

I think that in the expression editor I can put code to make the parser but I don't know if it's the best option and I don't know how to do it at all. Thank you
