How to load a table by clicking a button from Jaspersoft dashboard

Hi All ,

I have the following requiement.  This is with Commercial version. 

1. Insert a button in Jaspersoft dashboard. When clicking the buton, it should load the table from the database. 

2. Initially when opening the dashboard (ie) before clicking the button, it hould load  the historical data (previous executed data)

Please let me know whether this is acheivable
