What is the maximum height limit of one detail band

Hi, i am using ireport 5.1.0 . I have used multiple detail bands in my subreport. Can anyone plz tell what is the maximum height limit for one detail band and what will happen if i have used multiple detail bands and height of total detail bands are greater than page height i.e 842 pixel.Please help.
