PDF designer and using that PDF-form in .NET

Hello,

I am about to take over an old VB6-project (Windows Forms) and turn it into a VB.NET project.

The old VB6-IDE has a PDF-designer, that looks a bit like a japserreports-designer (!?) - where you are able to create a layout and link fields/labels to a database-table.

That old VB6-project that uses the pdf-'template' to generate a PDF when the printout-button is pressed.

Could someone give me an overview of the Jasperproduct, would I be able to create PDF-templates ('iReport Designer'? )  reading from a database-table, then hooking that into a VB.NET- or C#.NET-application? or using the iReport Designer and then calling a webservice from the VB.NET/C#.NET application ?

best, i
