Text Alignment always to left on Subreport

I`ve been having this problem where the text alignment on my subreport is always to the left when i generate the report, no matter what i choose on the subreport design. It`s very annoying and to counter this i purposely misplace an element to the right when i want it centered for example, there`s some questions about this on the forum but none are conclusive and some don`t have an answer, it would help me a lot if someone answered this. The method used for the subreport is a java Collection, if needed i can attach some code examples, thank you.
