Report prints string value as null instead of actual string value

Hi all,

for the reports I published into JasperServer, it always print "null" instead of actual string value of VARCHAR data type column. No such problem to print TIME/DATETIME data type column as I observed. Report was fine if print from editor JasperSoft Studio.
I had tried to check on the properties/configuration files, but couldn't find any solution.
Anyone know what's the cause of the problem and the solution to it? Much appreciated if anyone could help.
