Single Select Input Control - Allow null value

Hello,

Ihave a single select drop down for Date Range From and To and I want that to be non mandatory where if users want to select the date range they can else they should be able to run the report without selecting the date. When I am making it non mandatory, since it is a single select dropdown, I get report is empty if date isnt selected. I tried using "OR" in my SQL but with that even if the users select the date, the report results will show the data for the selected dates plus the results where date is null, which is what I don't want.

Can anyone tell me how can allow null values for a single select input control in Jasper Server?
