Drill Down/Hyperlinked report wont export to excel on Jasper Server

I have a report that has hyperlink/drill down into itself to set parameters based on the selected values.
When I initially run the report, I can export to excel and xlsx and get all the data.
When I pass the parameter value through drill down into "child report", which is still the same report, I cannot export to excel.
Paginated excel and paginated xlsx working, other export option working but normal excel and xlsx result in a blank file.
