Exporting with out data sources

We have our data source folder at the same level as our reporting folder.  The though was we could then export the reporting folder, and not get the data sources, so that when we went to the next level DEV --> QA --> Prod  we woudl get the reports but not overwrite the data source... Good thought  but it isn't happening that way.  Does any one know if there is a way to export from environment A and import to environment B without getting the data sources so we dont have to rebuild etc every time?

There's several options.  In recent versions of the server, when you export a folder, you can choose to export it without dependencies.  this exports only the contents of the current folder.

You could also use server-level attributes to set up your data sources and to specify different databases using the same data source.
