Adding images to footer and header xls or xlsx reports

Hi!

Is there a way to add images to the footer or header of reports generated to xls or xlsx in jasperreports? 

so far I've seen adding a line like 

<property name="net.sf.jasperreports.export.xls.sheet.footer.center" value="&8______________________________

YO"/>[/code]

adds a footer in xls with jasperreports version 5.6.1 and below (as recent versions seems to have it broken) and it seems that it doesn't work in xlsx as a code comment saying no personalized footers or headers yet.
